How Is Montessori Different From A Conventional School?
Montessori Vs. Conventional School
Montessori is an educational approach developed by Maria Montessori, an Italian physician and educator. It is based on the belief that children have a natural curiosity and desire to learn, and aims to support this through a hands-on, self-directed learning environment that emphasizes individual development, exploration, and discovery. Montessori classrooms typically feature mixed-age groups, multi-sensory materials, and a focus on practical life skills and social development, as well as traditional academics.
Meadow Creek Montessori (formerly Keystone Montessori) is a private Montessori school that provides education programs for students aged 4 to 14, from junior kindergarten to grade 8. The school follows the Montessori method of education, which emphasizes hands-on learning, independence, and self-discovery. The curriculum includes a mix of academic, practical, and cultural activities, and is designed to help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Meadow Creek Montessori has a low student-to-teacher ratio, which allows teachers to provide individualized attention to each student. The school also offers extracurricular activities and has a welcoming and inclusive community that values diversity and respect.
